On horseback
The amateurs of horseback riding will surely unanimously agree that there are few activities more enjoyable than admiring mountain peaks while on horseback. The Beskid 5 makes it possible for visitors to experience this and other horseback riding adventures – there are horse riding centres and stables in nearly all municipalities. The municipality that has the most to offer is Brenna, famous for its tradition of Hucul horses breeding. The Hucul horses are rather small, of heavy build, but perfectly-suited for mountainous and rough grounds. The horses have great resistance to illnesses and severe climate conditions. Due to their characteristic gentleness, the horses are also suitable for beginner riders as well as for therapeutic horse riding.
One of the biggest herd of Hucul horses is found in the „Hucuł” centre in Brenna-Jatny. The visitors at “Hucuł” centre can learn to ride a horse from the scratch, whereas the more experienced riders can explore the mountain peaks of Błatnia, Równica or Trzy Kopce Wiślańskie on horseback. The amateurs of horseback riding can also visit a horse riding club in Górki Wielkie, the “Błatnia” ranch located just below the peak of Błatnia, the “Mustang” centre in Wisła Jawornik, the “Stajnia na Kamieńcu” stable in Szczyrk, as well as a lot of holiday farms, scattered around the Beskid Five, which offer horse riding.
