Istebna

The municipality of Istebna is located in the south of Silesian Province near the Czech Republic/Poland/Slovakia border tripoint. The municipality of Istebna comprises three villages: Istebna, Jaworzynka and Koniaków, all three situated on the picturesque mountainsides of the Silesian Beskid. There are two ways to get here by car ? a national highway from Wisła or a national highway from Żywiec. Whichever way you choose, you will have a chance to admire unforgettable landscapes.

The municipality of Istebna is famous for its living highlander culture: beautiful regional costumes, regional folk bands, handicraft and folk art which includes the world-renowned Koniaków laces.

Every year for about six months you can enjoy great ski conditions in the area. During this period the snow cover thickness remains at about 100 cm, which ensures suitable conditions for winter sports. This is greatly supported by the system of ski lifts as well as professionally prepared cross-country skiing tracks on Kubalonka Pass which are open to general public.

The tourist infrastructure in the municipality of Istebna is developing steadily. Modern guesthouses, holiday hostels, family-owned and farm holiday guesthouses can accommodate over two thousand visitors in total.

We are ready to welcome everyone wishing to escape the turmoil of the city into the calmness of nature. A stay in Trójwieś Beskidzka (The Beskidy Triple Village: Jaworzynka, Istebna, Koniaków) will certainly be an  exquisite experience as the beauty of the landscape, the craftsmanship of our lace makers and the music played by our folk bands will for long remain a vivid memory in all our visitors’ minds.
